Tom Herrity
Owner
From working on Capitol Hill in his early 20s to cultivating a career as a serial entrepreneur, Tom is the founder of three Inc. 500 companies ––all of which he established from the ground up. Experienced in public affairs, software, and business process outsourcing, Tom knows a thing or two about hard work. Determined to turn a dream into reality, he set out to become part of the wine community—a community he first fell for in the mid-’80s and one that continues to excite, inspire, and motivate him today. Tom finds and fosters this sense of community at Crimson Lane by doing what he is most proud of: building teams that become like family and cultivating friendships that last a lifetime.
Deanna Herrity
Owner/Designer
Deanna brings a creative mind, an understanding of luxury, and an eye for aesthetics to the Crimson Lane team. On top of holding down the fort while Tom and Dominick took weekend enology and viticulture classes at PVCC, she is an accomplished interior and graphic designer, home renovator, mother of four, and consummate supporter of her family’s winemaking dreams. Deanna brought the dream of Crimson Lane to life through design, vision, and attention to detail. With a spirit of joyfulness, she has cultivated a place and a space that is welcoming and gracious.
Dominick Fioresi
Winemaker
For Dominick, making wine at Crimson Lane is a return to the winemaking roots of his ancestors and an opportunity to pay respects to his Italian heritage. One could say winemaking is in his blood. What started as a small flame in his youth continued to ignite his soul throughout the years he spent as an IT executive by day and a basement winemaker by night. As fate would have it, one Sunday night dinner, amidst talking about and tasting wine, he received an invitation to work harvest in Burgundy at Domaine Dublère. The rest, they say, is history. Returning to the States, Dominick knew his purpose was to make wine, no matter the cost. He pursued his passion with uncompromising focus.
Dominick cut his teeth as an apprentice under one of the best winemakers in the commonwealth, Jim Law of Linden Vineyards. Crediting Jim for much of his hands-on expertise, Dominick moved on to successful positions at Delaplane Cellars and Ingleside Vineyards, cultivating lifelong relationships and an encyclopedia of wine knowledge along the way.
Chris Jenkins
General manager
A native of Shenandoah Valley and current resident of Luray, Chris’ Virginia wine roots run deep. He co-founded and co-owned Faithbrooke Barn and Vineyards as well as The Valley Cork Wine Bar and Bottle Shop equipping him with deep knowledge of what it takes to grow, make, and sell wine. His commitment to wine extends beyond a strong business acumen and providing superior hospitality—he has achieved a WSET Level 2 certification showcasing his dedication to the industry in all regards.
Like many of us here at Crimson Lane, wine is more than a beverage for Chris, it’s a medium for connecting with guests over a shared passion. But beyond his unmatched enthusiasm for all things wine, Chris is an accomplished classical guitar recording artist, father to two daughters, and husband to wife Lindi.
Genaveve Davis
wine Club Manager
Genaveve’s sense of adventure and open spirit are evident the moment you meet her. As evidenced: she packed up her life in Tucson, AZ, and drove 2,300 miles to join our team. With a degree in sociology and museum and urban studies, she has an affinity for understanding the world and why people are the way they are. In her pursuit of sociological knowledge, Genaveve studied abroad in Italy and Paris where she realized that wine, across the globe, is a great way to connect with people, understand regional history, and appreciate the families that have thrived from vineyards and winemaking for centuries. When she’s not pursuing life’s larger questions, you can find her hiking, cooking, baking, and enjoying a glass of crisp Riesling.
Rumaldo Chavez
Vineyard + Crew Manager
When the land that would become Crimson Lane Vineyards was found and the site cleared, there was no question about who would oversee the development of our vineyards. Rumaldo comes to us with over 20 years of vineyard experience throughout Virginia, meeting Dominick during his tenure at Delaplane Cellars. Quickly, the two became more like brothers than colleagues and Dominick swore that once he had his own cellar, Rumaldo would be his right-hand man. He simply knows what to do and how to get it done. Whether picking, hedging, leaf-pulling, dropping fruit, or any other myriad of vineyard tasks, Rumaldo and his vineyard crew are the backbone of Crimson Lane’s operations.
Freddie, Lalo, Javi, Israel, Javier, Andrian
Vineyard Crew
Speaking of Rumaldo’s crew, these are the guys who get it done day in and day out. Our goal is to continually honor this group of men who leave their homes in Mexico year after year to provide us with their knowledge, strength, and can-do attitudes. In doing so, we’ve named our flagship wine after their hometown: Parral. Dedicating this yearly top blend to the team that does the heavy lifting is our way of letting them know that these are their vineyards too.
Jefa
Boss Lady
Every good vineyard must have a vineyard pup! Ours is Jefa, and while she may be large and think she’s in charge, she’s a big old softie. With a serious sweet tooth and an insatiable need for love, she’s sure to become your new best friend.
